General
Ibanez' AVNB1FE is a fretless electro-acoustic bass guitar with a Parlour body. It has a solid Sitka spruce top and the back and sides are made of mahogany. Acoustic guitar players will find it easy to transition to this bass thanks to its 24.96-inch scale length. It also has a relatively flat 15.75-inch fretboard radius and the mahogany neck has a smooth semi-gloss finish which both enhance this model's playing comfort.
AVNB1FE: sound, pickup and preamp
Overall, this fretless electro-acoustic bass produces a warm, rich sound with excellent dynamics. The bridge saddle and string nut are both made of bone which allows optimal transference of the string vibrations to the body. To enjoy the rich, dynamic sound through an amplifier as well, Ibanez has equipped the AVNB1FE with a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamplifier. As well as having a handy built-in tuner, the preamp also has bass, treble and volume controls for tweaking the sound to perfection. You've even got the choice of connecting to an amp via a balanced XLR or a mono jack output.
