In addition to their range of acoustic guitars, Sigma also have a number of acoustic bass guitars among their assortment, including this BMC-15E+. Its body is made entirely of mahogany which gives it a deliciously deep sound and a great look. The dreadnought-style body and solid top ensure it has plenty of volume too. When you need even more volume, however, you can simply plug it into an amp thanks to the Sigma piezo pickup and the top-quality Fishman Isys+ preamplifier.

Sound and components

The neck is also made of mahogany and the micarta fretboard plays its part in keeping the sound warm and well-balanced too. The bridge saddle and string nut are both made of bone which ensures excellent resonance and intonation. Other top-quality components on the BMC-15E+ include the machine heads made by Grover. This electro-acoustic bass sounds as good as it looks and is great value for money too.

Sigma Guitars

In the 1970s, Martin Guitars launched a series of attractively-priced models under the name Sigma Guitars in order to compete with the growing number of cheaper models being produced in the Far East. Unfortunately, they stopped producing them in 2007 but a German company breathed new life into the name in 2011. With Martin Guitars' blessing, these models are now made in China. They're subject to strict quality controls and everything from the way they're made to the design of the headstock do the original models justice. In short, these acoustic guitars offer the same excellent value for money as the original models did. In the USA, these models are distributed by Martin under the name Kindred Guitars because they no longer hold rights to the Sigma Guitars name.
