Ibanez SRF706 Portamento Brown Burst Flat 6-string fretless bass

The SRF706 Portamento is a 6-string fretless electric bass guitar from Ibanez' Bass Workshop. It's equipped with Bartolini MK1 split-coil pickups and an AeroSilk Piezo system with an active tone control for outstanding versatility. The extra low B and high C strings offer a much greater range than you normally get from a standard electric bass guitar. The neck has 30 frets which means you can easily play in the upper registers just like you can on a double bass although this is much more lightweight and manageable. This model has a beautiful matte Brown Burst finish.

SRF706 Portamento: stable and comfortable to play

The SRF706 is based on Soundgear models and has a neck-through-body construction. It's highly stable largely thanks its 5-piece maple and bubinga neck that has mahogany body wings attached to the sides. The clean-looking fingerboard is made of rosewood. The thin SFR6 neck is easy and comfortable to play and the flatter body plays a part in this too. It also helps to keep the weight down which again adds to the playing comfort and means you won't experience any unnecessary stress on your back or shoulders.

Bartolini MK1 split-coils and AeroSilk Piezo system

This bass' versatile sound comes from the Bartolini MK1 split-coil pickups and the AeroSilk Piezo system with its active tone control. The pickups were specially chosen for their consistent sound and open character. There are two boost/cut potentiometers that allow you to adjust the bass and treble for a perfect sound. The piezo system in the Custom bridge gives you even more options, including the ability to make your instrument sound more like a double bass with its airier tone which can also be mixed in with the sound of the pickups. The piezo has its own volume control too. All in all, it's clear to see that the SRF706 is an electric bass guitar with plenty to offer.
