The Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass from the American Fender Custom Shop features a special, distressed 3-Color Sunburst finish, completely in keeping with the legendary musician's fretless bass. The alder wood body and specially-formed neck are what give this Jazz Bass its unique feel and sound while the fretless thick rosewood fingerboard is finished with an epoxy coating for a smooth, durable surface. This instrument is made by hand in the American Custom Shop, so you can be sure of an excellent instrument that comes complete with a deluxe hard case, accessories, and a certificate of authenticity.

The body of this bass is made of alder wood to ensure a balanced tone which, when combined with maple, results in a pure, transparent tone. Both the body and neck have been given a nitrocellulose lacquer coating to ensure optimal resonance and a natural sound and the finish and weathered 3-Color Sunburst finish becomes more attractive as it ages. The tone is produced by two Custom '60s single-coil pickups that are adjustable to perfection thanks to the comprehensive tone and volume controls.

John Francis Anthony Pastorius III was an American jazz musician who was best known for his time in the jazz fusion band Weather Report. His unique playing style was characterised by his high technical ability and melodic solos. He single-handedly boosted the popularity of the fretless bass and used the instrument in new and creative ways like in Weather Report's 'Birdland' and 'Three Views of a Secret'.
