Sandberg California VS5: Robust Five-String

Once you've stopped gushing, you'll notice the depth of tone, rich mids and clarity of trebles produced by the alder body and that the Canadian maple neck, completed by a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, has a 6-screw bond for maximum strength and stability. The head is fitted with lightweight Gotoh Res-O-Lite machine heads and ensures a perfectly balanced instrument with no danger of neck dive while the Sandberg-designed bridge is mounted with six independently adjustable string saddles for minutely accurate intonation adjustments.

Active P-Style Electronics

The Sandberg California VS5 has all the well-known and even-better-loved punchy, P-style sound delivered by the now-traditional split single-coil pickup. The pickup is loaded with extra large Alnico 5 magnets for enhanced registration of the string vibrations and the result is a potent, depth-plunging sound with outstanding definition even when playing the low-B string. The active tone controls consist of a bass and treble pot for boosting or filtering the high and low end and, by popping the volume control pot, you can render the circuit of the VS5 passive.
