Mapex Armory 504S Fusion shell set Magma Red: two types of wood

The shells of this five-piece fusion shell set are made of six plies of birch and maple. The combination of these two popular wood types ensures that you get the ultimate sound with great resonance and plenty of punch. When a drum set is made of two types of wood, it is called a hybrid kit. These hybrid kits are often praised for their enhanced tonal properties. The excellent resonance of the shells is partly owed to the SONIClear suspension system, which makes minimal contact with the shells and keeps the vibrations of the shells and drumheads contained within the toms themselves. The bass drum is fitted with isolating claw hooks with a rubber lining. This lining doesn't just prevent the hooks from damaging the hoops of your bass drum, it also prevents the hardware from rattling as you play. The shell set has a Magma Red finish that subtly fades to black, and this distinct look is further enhanced by the black-plated hardware.

Tomahawk snare included

Armory shell sets come with the 14 x 5.5-inch Mapex Tomahawk ARST4551CEB snare drum as standard. This snare drum with a 1mm thick shell has a large projection range and accurate response. With its 45-degree bearing edges this snare produces a clear, loud tone with plenty of resonance. The bass drum in the Studioease models is what you'd call a 'virgin bass drum', which means it does not have a tom mount. Instead, the shell set comes with tom clamps and tom arms, which allow you to attach your toms to your cymbal stands. This does not just provide you more freedom to create the perfect set-up, but a virgin bass drum also has a more powerful low end.
