The shells of the Armory 529S Rock shell set in Transparent Walnut have 45-degree SONIClear bearing edges. These make sure that the drumheads make better contact with the shells, optimising resonance, enhancing the sound and tuning range of the drums, and ensuring a consistent tuning. Furthermore, the SONIClear tom mounting system also contributes to the Armory 529S's excellent sound. This system makes minimal contact with the shells, resulting in an even better tom resonance. Besides the great sound, this kit also has a beautiful Cordovan Red finish and its shells are fitted with chrome hardware.

Tomahawk snare and virgin bass drum

Armory shell sets come with the 14 x 5.5-inch Mapex Tomahawk ARST4551CEB snare drum as standard. This snare drum with a 1mm thick shell has a large projection range and accurate response. This snare also has the SONIClear bearing edges, ensuring it produces a clear, loud tone. The bass drum in the Mapex Armory models is what you'd call a 'virgin bass drum', which means it does not have a tom mount. Instead, the shell set comes with tom clamps and tom arms, which allow you to attach your toms to your cymbal stands. This does not just provide you with more freedom to create the perfect set-up, but a virgin bass drum also has a more powerful low end.
