The Mapex Armory 628S-CWT Studioease in Transparent Walnut is a six-piece shell set with a very versatile character. It's the ideal drum kit for drummers who want a wide range of sounds and like to take on musical challenges! This studio configuration consists of a 22-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms, 14 and 16-inch floor toms and a 14 x 5.5-inch Tomahawk snare drum.

Mapex Armory 628S Studioease shell set Transparent Walnut: hybrid kit

The shells of this six-piece studio kit are made of six plies of birch and maple, and they're 7.2mm thick. The combination of these two popular wood types in this hybrid kit ensures that you get the ultimate sound with great resonance and plenty of punch. The excellent resonance of the shells is partly thanks to the SONIClear suspension system, which makes minimal contact with the shells to keep the produced vibrations contained within the drum itself. The bass drum is fitted with isolating claw hooks. which are equipped with a rubber lining that prevents them from rattling as you play and thereby damaging the hoops. This shell set has a Transparent Walnut finish and chrome hardware.

Tomahawk snare drum

Armory shell sets come with the 14 x 5.5-inch Mapex Tomahawk ARST4551CEB snare drum as standard. This snare drum with a 1mm thick shell has a large projection range and accurate response. With its 45-degree bearing edges this snare produces a clear, loud tone with plenty of resonance. The bass drum in the Studioease models is what you'd call a 'virgin bass drum', which means it does not have a tom mount. Instead, the shell set comes with tom clamps and tom arms, which allow you to attach your toms to your cymbal stands. This does not just provide you more freedom to create the perfect set-up, but a virgin bass drum also has a more powerful low end.
