Mapex Saturn V MH Exotic Natural Maple Burl: fusion shell set

Now that the hybrid Saturn V drum kit also has these fancy bearing edges, both its sound and its tuning range have been greatly improved due to the fact that the drumhead makes better contact with the shell.

This fusion-oriented shell set comes in a Natural Maple Burl finish and consists of a 20 x 16" bass drum, 10 x 7" and 12 x 8" toms, and a 14 x 14" floor tom. The 7-ply shells are made of maple and walnut, a combination that ensures a bright sound with a nice balance of mids and lows.

Toms

Besides the SONIClear bearing edges, the Mapex MXSV504B-MXN Saturn V fusion kit also features the SONIClear Tom Suspension system. As this system ensures minimal contact with the shells, the toms can resonate freely and the resulting vibrations largely stay confined within the shells and drumheads themselves. Furthermore, this kit comes with a TH692 double tom holder. The bass drum is fitted with isolating claw hooks and a rubber lining, reducing the chance of them damaging the hoops, or coming loose and rattling as you play.
