The Imperialstar drum kits are developed to be an affordable line of drums, with the same high-quality of higher-end Tama series. This stylish black model is a five-piece jazz kit, and thanks to its excellent tonal properties, it's a great fit for both beginners and more advanced players. It's a highly complete package, complete with a Meinl cymbal set, Tama Stagemaster stands, an Iron Cobra bass drum pedal and a sturdy drum throne.

Tama IP58H6-BK Imperialstar 5-piece drum kit: jazz configuration

This kit consists of five shells in a jazz configuration. This means it consists of a 18 x 14-inch bass drum, 10 x 8 and 12 x 9-inch toms, a 14 x 12-inch floor tom and a 13 x 5-inch snare. These relatively small-sized toms all have a rich, warm sound thanks to their six plies of poplar. Furthermore, to enhance shell resonance, Tama used several elements, such as the Precision Bearing Edges and small Imperialstar lugs that make minimal contact with the shells. Even the black wrap helps to enhance the sound, as it is glued to the entirety of the shell, instead of only a few spots.

Cymbals, stands and a throne

Included, you'll find a three-piece MCS cymbal pack by renowned cymbal manufacturer Meinl, which contains a pair of 14-inch hi-hat cymbals, a 16-inch crash and a 20-inch ride. You can mount these cymbals on the three included stands, which are very sturdy, durable and easy to use. The toms will feel right at home on Tama's tried-and-true tom mounting system, which is easy to adjust, but also provides the toms with plenty of stability, while allowing them to resonate freely. The special Accu-Tune bass drum hoops are also very reliable, and they make sure your bass drum stays in tune for much longer. The sturdy drum throne will keep you comfortable behind the Imperialstar kit.
