In the super-tight form of the the LX5500, Hartke present a genuinely lighteight 55 Watt bass amp top loaded with a Class-A preamp and 12AX7 tube and a Class-D transistor power amp built for presence, definition, and refreshing dynamics. Besides controls for the high and low end, this amp offers detailed control over your midrange as well as a Shape pot and a Frequency pot able to add or filter out any unwanted low or high frequencies ranging between 200Hz and 800Hz. And, if you like a little bite to your bass, simply tweak the Brite pot to hit that nicely fierce sweet spot when coupled with your speaker cabinet of choice.

The LX5500: More Room for Sonic Customisation

Alongside the detailed set of tone controls, the LX5500 comes with built-in compression that, with a single pot, can add extra definition to each note. Next to that, a Gain pot can make your bass sound like it's producing anything from subtle and warm thunder to lush, high-colour fuzz. Around the back of this teeny-tiny amp head, you'll find a mono effects loops for hooking up your stompbox collection, an XLR Direct Out for direct connection to a stage-block, and for more private rehearsals, a headphone output and an AUX input.
