General
Sennheiser's 3040L is a flexible metal gooseneck with built-in LED ring for the ME34, ME35 and ME36 microphone capsules by Sennheiser. The replaceable capsule can be simply mounted to the top of this 40cm-long gooseneck, via the special connector. At the bottom you will find a 5-pin XLR plug with a built-in preamp. The microphone is powered by sending 12 to 48 Volt of phantom power over three pins of the connector. The other two pins are used to power the LED ring.
