General
Shure have developed various wireless handheld transmitters, all with their own specific functions and shapes. Something can always break, however, or you can suddenly need a particular feature that wasn't in the microphone head that you initially ordered. In that case you can choose from several other heads: the PG58, SM58, SM86, SM87, BETA 58A, BETA87A, BETA87C, KSM9 champagne or KSM9 black microphone head.
The difference between the Beta 87A and 87C is the pickup pattern: the Beta 87A has a super-cardioid pickup pattern, whereas the 87C has a cardioid pattern. Chances therefore are that the 87A will suffer less feedback, but the user will have to sing straight into the microphone as sound from the sides is not picked up. The 87C does not require such expertise, but it is a little more sensitive to feedback.
