Fender American Vintage 65 Jazzmaster Firemist Silver RW
General
The Jazzmaster is one of the more eccentric Fender models. Have you always wanted a genuine '60s model but couldn't get your bank to agree it was an essential investment? Fender's American Vintage series is the answer. This '65 Jazzmaster is fully modelled after the 1965 instrument. What's more, this edition has a special Firemist Silver lacquer, originally a rare option in the sixties, that vastly contributes to this guitar's sentimental value. Despite its vintage looks, this instrument comes brand new from the American factory. Opening the luxury guitar case is like opening a window in time, offering you a peek into history with the many contemporary accessories and documents.
American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster Firemist Silver: features
Compared to its brother the Jaguar, this Jazzmaster has a 'normal' scale length of 25.5 inches with a 21-fret fingerboard. The instrument is equipped with two Soapbar single-coils, for a full, warm tone. The target of this instrument were jazz guitarists, initially, but it quickly gained massive popularity in the surf scene (Beach Boys, The Shadows). The rosewood fretboard of this model features mother-of-pearl position markers and beautiful white bindings. The distinctive tremolo tailpiece can be locked with the tremolo lock button. Sticking with the style of 1965, the potentiometers have been fitted with Witch Hat knobs.
American Vintage series: more accurate than ever before
The American Vintage series has been around for a while. The current series comprises new, iconic '50s and '60s models that have a minute vintage accuracy. To get to this point, the guitar giant tracked down and studied specs and details of numerous original vintage guitars. Fender even brushed off the tools of the period to make the result as authentic as possible. Every model has been fitted with new pickups, especially wound after the specifications and sound of the vintage reference models. It's for good reason that these models represent Fender's illustrious, 60-year-long musical history.
