Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar 3-Color Sunburst RW
General
Fender offer the Kurt Cobain Jaguar especially for die hard Nirvana fans. It is a tribute to the late singer and guitarist of one of the most iconic grunge bands from the early '90s. This right-handed electric guitar's features were minutely copied from Kurt's modified and battered left-handed 1965 Jaguar, from the wear and dents in the body and neck to the two cream-coloured humbucker pickups and unique electronics.
Characteristics of the Kurt Cobain Jaguar 3-colour Sunburst
This guitar has a '65-style asymmetrical alder Jaguar body and a bolt-on (24-inch scale length) Stratocaster-type maple neck. Its fretboard features 22 modern medium jumbo frets and a 9.5-inch radius as well as white bindings. The headstock is fitted with six high-quality Gotoh machine heads and sports a '50-style Fender spaghetti logo. Additionally, the guitar is equipped with a modern, adjustable Adjusto-Matic and a standard vintage-style Jaguar locking tremolo. What is more, this guitar has been given the Road Worn treatment that makes both the hardware and the lacquer of the body and neck look aged and worn.
DiMarzio humbuckers and unique electronics
Just like the original, the Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar is equipped with two wicked DiMarzio humbucker pickups; a DP100 Super Distortion in the bridge position for rougher guitaring and a DP103 36th Anniversary PAF at the neck for a more warm vintage tone. Above the neck pickup there's a small slide switch that allow you to choose between 'lead' and 'rhythm' electronics. When the slide switch is down it engages the two volumes, tone and three-position pickup switch. When it is up, only the neck pickup is in operative and you can use the two horizontal thumbwheel controls to adjust both volume and tone.
The Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar comes in a black vinyl Fender case with black plush interior. Additionally, you'll receive an exclusive Fender Kurt Cobain book containing photos and comments by Charles Peterson, plus an insightful interview with Nirvana's guitar technician Earnie Bailey.
