If you're looking for a truly unique bass guitar, you might consider this Fender Limited Edition Sandblasted Jazz Bass. Every instrument with the sandblasted finish is truly unique. First, a transparent red lacquer is applied to the body, after which it is sandblasted, creating parallel grooves in the ash. The grooves are accentuated by the black filler and nicely complemented by the black pickguard. As wood is a natural product, no two pieces are the same, which means that every Sandblasted Fender has a unique finish.

Construction

The open grain structure of ash is perfect for the Sandblasted finish and also gives the Jazz Bass a balanced tone. Moreover, it is lighter than the more commonly used alder. The maple neck and maple fretboard (with comfortable C profile) add a pleasant sparkle to the overall sound. Like the two single-coil pickups, the bridge is also from the American Standard series. The tone control is also quite traditional and features a single master control and two volume potentiometers.

It may be clear that the finish of these Sandblasted instruments is quite a process, which is why Fender decided to limit the amount of guitars and bass guitars.
