M-Audio Accent Module

General

A MIDI keyboard is designed for those who don't want to be limited to the built-in sounds of a digital piano or keyboard. It enables you to play using the virtual instruments on your computer, which is a disadvantage when you're performing live, as you'd always need a laptop with you. M-Audio has come to the rescue with the Accent Module! This MIDI audio source features 20 sounds that have been especially selected for pianists/keyboard players, including a realistic AIR Steinway, for starters.

Stage piano without keys

The Accent Module is essentially a keyless stage piano with a USB and a classic MIDI output on the back, which means you can connect any instrument with a USB-MIDI or classic MIDI output to it. It doesn't necessarily have to be a MIDI keyboard, either. Even an older keyboard that needs its sounds updated will suffice. In other words, the Accent Module makes it possible to turn any MIDI keyboard instrument into an authentic-sounding stage piano. The signal is sent to the mixer via two balanced jack outputs.

Control panel

The Accent Module features an innovative, practical control panel. By turning the knob, you can quickly find the sound you're looking for, which shows up clear as day on the display. On the left, there are three Part slides, which enable you to blend up to three sounds together; piano + strings or electric piano + bass guitar, for example. The other faders are used for adjusting the amount of reverb and chorus effects, and the 3-band equalizer. It's also possible to split the keyboard in two, with a bass on the left, for instance, and piano on the right.
