Neumann KMS 105 PBK: insensitive to feedback

Even though this Neumann might be a condenser microphone, you needn't worry about feedback on stage, thanks to a super-cardioid pickup pattern, which keeps out ambient noise at the front or sides of the microphone - only the vocals are registered! The transparency is excellent - you're getting the Neumann sound, but it a housing that's designed for use on stage, as opposed to the well-known, huge studio mics. High SPLs aren't a problem for this mic, and thanks to the transformerless output, the registered audio will not be coloured in any way.

Built-in filters and construction

The KMS 105 is fitted with an internal pop filter, so that marring plosives are filtered out of your recording. S-sounds will be picked up, however, to ensure crisp articulation. The proximity effect is compensated for electronically, so that the frequency ratio stay intact, even when you're singing or speaking closely into the microphone. Thanks to the metal housing and hardened steel grille, the internal components are protected and handling noise is attenuated. If you need to clean the acoustic filters, you can easily screw the grille off.
