Roland are continuously developing their digital pianos, trying to make them as similar to their acoustic counterparts as possible. The Roland HP-506 RW rosewood is loaded with features, including a number of interesting new ones, which add to a very life-like, natural piano experience. A central position is taken by the PHA-4 Concert Keyboard, which provides a more detailed response than that of its predecessor and is fitted with keys that feel like real ebony and ivory. It is the ultimate partner for the sublime SuperNATURAL sound source, which offers both grand pianos and upright models.
The spacious and dynamic HP-506 RW
The newer models of the HP series feature a special function: the Dynamic Harmonic effect. During powerful playing, it adjusts the timbre as well as the volume of the sound, ensuring that your fortissimo playing has a genuine fortissimo character. In order to further adjust the volume, characteristics and pitch of each individual tone, for instance to suit the room you are playing in, you can use the Individual Note Voicing functionality (the HP-506 and HP-508 models even allow you to store these settings on a USB stick). Last but not least, the Acoustic Projection System takes the HP-506 and HP-508 one step further than the HP-504: this multi-speaker system ensures a rich and spacious sound.
Recording, playing along and wireless connections
The Roland HP-506 makes it easy to record your own piano playing. Simply connect a USB stick to the digital piano and store your session as a MIDI or WAV file. The HP-506 also allows for the playback of these types of files, enabling you to play along. The USB connector can also be used for the optional Roland Wireless USB adapter, which sets up a connection to your wireless network. Use the Piano Partner app (for iPad) to let children work on their skills in a fun way, or to gain quick access to the sounds and songs of the HP-506. The Air Performer app (for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) enables you to play along with your own playlists.
