The Roland HP-508 Contemporary Black (matte black) is one of the top models of the HP series. It features a relatively large cabinet that accommodates no less than six speakers (two more than the HP-506), which project the sound of the piano from different angles. This Acoustic Projection system produces a fantastic, spacious effect, almost identical to the sound of an acoustic piano. The HP-508 is also equipped with the all-new PHA-4 keyboard, which distinguishes itself by the accurate way it registers the force of your strikes, the limited amount of noise it creates, and its ability to effortlessly process quickly repeated notes.
The realistic sound of the HP-508 CB
Roland's renowned SuperNATURAL sound generator ensures convincing grand and upright piano sounds. The new Dynamic Harmonic functionality provides additional realism: if you are playing fortissimo, not only the volume, but also the timbre changes in accordance with the force of your strokes. Would you like to adapt the sound of your piano to the acoustics of the room? The HP-508 enables you to adjust the volume, the characteristics and the pitch of each separate note. Finally, the new 3D Ambience effect allows you to enjoy the rich, spacious sound of the digital piano when you are wearing your headphones.
Recording, playing along and learning
With the Roland HP-508, making recordings is easy - all you need to do to save your performance in WAV or MIDI format, is connect a USB stick. The piano also allows for the playback of WAV and MIDI files, which means you can play along with your favourite tracks. If you own the optional Roland Wireless USB Adapter, you can even do so wirelessly, by installing the free Air Performer app on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. The practical Piano Partner app gives you quick access to the sounds and songs of the HP-508 and provides children with a fun tool to hone their piano skills.
