General
Shure also provide durability in their more attractively priced systems. The Shure BLX14/PG30 is one such system, specifically designed for public speakers and instructors that like having their hands free. It consists of the clear-sounding and comfortable PG-30 headset, the compact BLX 4 receiver and the solid BLX1 bodypack transmitter. Receiver and transmitter have a range of up to 90 metres and together they form a quick plug-and-play system, that anyone can get to work with!
The PG30
This headset microphone is especially well suited for active users. The comfortable steel frame allows you to attach the microphone securely and comfortably to your head. The PG30 is a condenser microphone with a gradual and natural frequency response. It makes for a natural reproduction of your voice. The cardioid pickup pattern prevents feedback and filters background noise like that of speakers and air conditioners. With the TA4F connector you can make a secure connection with the beltpack transmitter, so that you won't have to worry about the cable coming free.
Internal antennas
The BL4 receiver has no antennas on the outside. The main advantage is that they cannot get damaged during transportation. You won't have to look for the appropriate angle for ideal reception as the internal antennas are already perfectly placed. The receiver uses diversity which means that it constantly 'checks' which of the two antennas provides the best signal and switches to that. The QuickScan function scans for the best available frequency and automatically attunes to it. You only have to enter this frequency into your lightweight beltpack transmitter and a connection is made.
