General
The Meinl BA1BK is an Okónkolo Bata hand percussion instrument, which means it's the smallest kind of Batá. Its drumheads are made of hand-selected buffalo hide, and have a 5.25-inch and 8-inch diameter. The Bata is made of high-quality black fibreglass with a glossy finish, ensuring the drum is very lightweight yet highly durable. It has a unique, authentic sound that is sure to please.
Tuning and maintenance
The aforementioned drumheads are held in place by traditional TTR rims, which you can tune by using the included tuning key. That way, you can keep your drum in tip-top shape. Furthermore, Meinl included a nylon shoulder strap that makes it easy to take the drum with you, wherever you go.
