Meinl's HDJ5-L 12-inch Headliner series djembe has a beautiful traditional appeal, thanks to a natural finish and a hand-painted image on the lower part. It's carved from a single, solid piece of mahogany that is grown on a special plantation, allowing Meinl to guarantee the best possible quality and to use only the best wood for their instruments. The djembe's shell is 24 inches deep and gives it a traditional sound, while the hand-selected goatskin drumhead enhances both sound and playing comfort.

Mali Weave tuning system

The goatskin drumhead is kept in place by means of an ancient Malinese weaving technique, which keeps the head perfectly in tune. The runners are made of 5mm-thick PP nylon ropes for added durability. Furthermore, thanks to the handy carrying strap, its easy to take the Headliner djembe along with you.
