The Meinl PMDJ1-L-F African Djembe is suited for both professionals and enthusiastic beginners. With its hieroglyph-like decorations and red finish, this djembe looks like it came straight out of northern Africa. The drumhead is completely synthetic, ensuring the instrument can withstand sudden changes in temperature. Combined with the synthetic shell, that makes this the ideal djembe for outdoor performances. It has a 12-inch diameter and is the large model from the Travel series.

Meinl put a lot of thought in this djembe’s weight. The PMDJ1-L-F is 20% lighter than models that are made of fibreglass, which makes it even easier to take it with you, wherever you go. It's also very easy to tune the Travel series djembe, thanks to the mechanical tuning system, as tuning can be done in no time, and even while you're playing. This djembe produces a rich, deep bass tone and extra sharp slaps. Furthermore, the bottom features a special anti-slip ring which protects both the djembe and the floor.
