Duesenberg 59er Black
General
The German Duesenberg 59er Black is modelled after a certain well-known American guitar, so of course it has that mahogany single-cut chambered body with a mahogany neck. Duesenberg equipped it with two Grand Vintage humbuckers, which were hand-wound by the German luthiers themselves. As such, they offer that famous PAF sound, but naturally Duesenberg ensured that it differs in many subtly ways from the sound of a single-cut guitar. In the middle position, the pickup switch filters out some of the low frequencies, allowing for a sparkling, clear sound that makes this guitar eminently suitable for many different genres. The included Duesenberg case is the icing on the cake.
Duesenberg 59er Black met Diamond Deluxe Tremola
An even bigger difference is made by the Duesenberg Diamond Deluxe Tremola, a vibrato unit that prevents the strings from detuning as much as they would with other vibratos. This tremolo system is only available on the black version of the Duesenberg 59er. The strings run across a tune-o-matic bridge towards the tailpiece. When you use the tremolo arm, the bridge bends just a little bit too, in order to help keep your guitar in tune. Furthermore, the Deluxe Tremola can quite easily be removed and replaced with a separately available standard tailpiece. As for the controls, Duesenberg opted to keep it nice and simple: the 59er only features 2 control knobs, instead of the 4 its American counterpart has, one for tone and one for volume.
Fans around the world
Duesenberg got its name from a famous German car brand from the 1920s. That brand was synonymous with elegance, luxury and mechanical precision. Clearly, Duesenberg Guitars strives for those very same things. Since 1986, they've been crafting instruments with incredible attention to detail and shapes that bring to mind the art deco movement. All of the hardware used was developed in-house. This results in eye-catching guitars with a unique sound favoured by many famous guitarists around the world. Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Ron Wood, Bob Dylan, Billy Gibbons, Jon Bon Jovi, Mike Campbell, Elvis Costello; all of these musicians have one or more Duesenbergs.
