This extremely limited edition guitar is the Eastwood Airline MAP DLX Lake Placid Blue. As if the stunning shape of the Airline MAP models wasn't enough, the quirky Canadian guitar brand opted to adorn it with a striking blue colour (Pantone colour 647, to be exact). But this instrument has more on offer than just its pretty looks; normally, MAPs are equipped with two humbuckers, but this one features two genuine VVSC single-coil pickups. What's more, this Lake Placid Blue version comes with a case. A unique, quality instrument!

Airline MAP Lake Placid Blue: an improved VALCO

The original National MAP guitars were made in the sixties by VALCO. This Airline MAP was based on the 1962 version of the VALCO guitar and - contrary to a second-hand genuine National MAP - it is very affordable. Also, the original fibreglass body was replaced by a partially hollow mahogany body, making this guitar stronger and providing it with improved resonance while retaining its pleasantly light weight. The bolt-on maple neck features vintage-looking pearloid position markers.

VVSC pickups

The unmistakeable body is equipped with a duo of single-coil pickups, disguised as humbuckers. These VVSCs are highly accurate copies of the VALCO pickups and take full responsibility for the Airline guitars' distinctive sound. You can now effortlessly make those dirty, growling guitar sounds like musicians such as Jack White, J.B. Hutto, Hound Dog Taylor and Jimmy Reed. Use the chic Bigsby tremolo arm for tasteful vibrato effects. The Grover machine heads keep the guitar in excellent tuning.
