The offset-shape of the Jackson X-Series Kelly KEX doesn't just look fast but plays fast. This guitar is just as hard working as it is refined, since the lightweight, balanced body has been shot through with a maple neck to ensure optimum resonance and solid stability. The neck has even been reinforced with graphite to reduce sensitivity to temperature and humidity shifts and prevent warping over time, while the fretboard compound radius runs from a snug and round 12 inches at the headstock to a fast and fluid 16 inches at the body, accommodating tight chords and leads while guided by a full set of black Jackson-signature sharkfin fretboard inlays. Jackson have mounted a pair of their very own high-output humbuckers to deliver a delicious, full crunch framed by excellent definition. Rhythms are thick and tight while leads pull the very best out of that that double-coil tone. To support extreme tremolo-arm-trickery and provide the assurance of exacting tuning stability and smooth control, a renowned double-locking Floyd Rose Special bridge has been fitted as well as a locking nut.
