General
Part of D'Angelico's Excel Series, the Gramercy XT is an electro-acoustic steel-string guitar that stand outs in all the right ways and offers superb playing comfort, inspiring sound and matching aesthetics. Together with the slightly more compact, high-gloss-finished body and subtle cutaway, it's the trusty C-profile of the matt mahogany neck and the relatively flat, 16" pau ferro fretboard and 20 medium jumbo frets that promise a purely satisfying playing experience. To keep it in good nick, each Gramercy XT model comes complete with a deluxe hard-case.
The Excel Gramercy XT: Lively Sound & Classy '40s Vibe
The spruce top and grand auditorium-style mahogany body shape a rich acoustic foundation sound and round it off with a welcome touch of warmth and the extra dynamics needed to bring out any subtleties in your playing. So the sound can be accurately amplified, D'Angelico have equipped the Gramercy XT with an under-saddle piezo pickup and a Fishman INK-4 preamp with built-in tuner. Next to the standard 3-band EQ and volume knob, a little extra high-end sparkle can added to the overall sound using the Brilliance control, while the John D'Angelico-designed Scroll Style headstock and stable, gold-plated Grover Stairstep Rotomatic tuners provide that classy '40s feel.
