Offering the classic features of ES-335-style guitars like the Sheraton and the Casino, just at a more modest price, the Epiphone PR-5E electro-acoustic is a modern icon in its own right. The body shape comes directly from ES thinline archtops, but instead of a double-cut finish, this guitar features a tight 'Florentine' cutaway, which doesn't just give it a stunning look, but improves fret-reach all the way up the neck.
The Epiphone PR-5E: The Sound
The mahogany body of this electro-acoustic has been topped with spruce which combines with the single-cut shape to produce high-definition sound that's packed with articulated basses and a solid midrange - the classic sound of an Epiphone flat top. Plug it in and you're treated to the pure and transparent amplification of a Fishman Sonicore pickup and a Fishman Presys preamp system complete with a built-in tuner.
