Fender Paramount PM-2 Standard Parlour
General
The Parlour is a popular type of guitar for blues and folk musicians because of its comfortable, smaller-sized body. In their new Paramount series, Fender has included this top-notch PM-2 version that is surprisingly affordable. Fender combined a solid spruce top and mahogany sides and back, a well-known recipe for a tasteful tone. This model has a natural finish and a rosewood fretboard.
PM-2 Standard Parlour: playability and sound
Fender's Parlour guitar feels a lot different than a standard dreadnought model because the PM-2 has a shorter scale length of just 24.75 inches, but a relatively broad string nut of 44.45 mm. This results in an electro-acoustic steel-string guitar with frets that are close together and strings that are furtherrelatively far apart, making even the most complex chords easier to grab. The body may be small, but the sound certainly isn't! To top it all off, a special Fishman Paramount preamp has been custom-built and adjusted to this particular model for a superior sound.
Fender Paramount: taking the stage
The name Paramount has a rich history, and is associated with the renowned concert hall in Seattle as well as the American record label, for starters. In order to maintain the excellent reputation attached to that name, Fender aimed to use the very best elementsparts and wood types available within the targeted price class. The types of wood were selected to give these solid-body, electro-acoustic steel-string guitars a rich sound. Additionally, a custom-built preamp complements the body type beautifully. The icing on the cake is a luxury case with humidifier to keep this guitar in optimal shape.
