The American Vintage '56 Stratocaster LH was hand-made in America according to 1956 specifications. Every detail is accurately reproduced, including the right colour nitrocellulose lacquer to the Fender Pat. Pend. stamps on the steel bridge saddles. Its three alnico 3 single-coil pickups are wound and voiced to sound just like those on the original guitars. Even the included tweed case and case candy are identical reproductions.
It's back in time with the American Vintage '56 Stratocaster LH
This left-handed Fender American Vintage '56 Stratocaster takes you back to the time of what just might be the most popular Strat neck profile ever made. In 1956, the big D-profile of the '54 Strat was replaced by a comfortably curved V-profile one, so it no longer feels like you're playing a baseball bat. Also, the body was no longer made of ash, as it was replaced by the midtone-rich alder. On its headstock, you'll find some other authentic details of the Fender American Vintage '56 Stratocaster LH. 1956 was in this year that the round string guide was replaced with the new butterfly type. Additionally, the single-line Fender Deluxe machine heads are featured on this guitar but now have the right distance from each other so that the strings run straight down the bone string nut. Lastly, the tremolo bridge was fitted with vintage-accurate saddles and a massive block of rolled steel for the authentic tone and sustain.
American Vintage series: more accurate than ever before
Along with the American Standard series, Fender decided to give the 2012 American Vintage series a massive update. It has been expanded with new, iconic '50s and '60s models that have a minute vintage accuracy. To get to this point, the guitar giant tracked down and studied specs and details of numerous original vintage guitars. Fender even brushed off the tools of the period to make the result as authentic as possible. All of these guitars come with a vintage-style case with replica case candy that consists of, for instance, a guitar strap, guitar cable, polishing cloth, and vintage-accurate booklets and pamphlets. There's a good reason that these new models represent Fender's famed, 60-year long history in music.
