This beautiful handpan by Terre Percussion is 59 cm in diameter, 24 cm high and weighs 5 kg. It's tuned to the key of D minor and has 9 notes that are D3, A3, C4, D4, F4, G4, A4, C5 and D5. It can be played with the hands and the fingers and produces a warm, earthy, soothing sound that's reminiscent of a steel drum. This makes it excellent for sound and music therapy. It comes complete with a bag.

This handpan drum is made by hand. As you can imagine, a certain level of skill and expertise is required to make one, but there are few people in the world who can call themselves masters of the trade. The Shamanic Handpan consists of two rounded iron plates that are first hammered roughly into shape. After that, the bottom half is completed, which is essentially the body and is equipped with a sound hole. The top of the handpan involves precision work and a few thousand hammer strikes to achieve just the right tones. It's a time-consuming job to get a single instrument tuned correctly, while maintaining the clarity and getting each tone in balance.
