Sennheiser have developed this beige version of the MKE 2 EW-3 GOLD to match the skin of artists with a lighter skin tone so that the microphone is no longer visible at a distance.
The MKE 2 EW-3 GOLD's Umbrella Diaphragm
A special umbrella-shaped diaphragm ensures that only sound is picked up by the microphone and nothing else. Drops of sweat and the like are neatly kept away from the microphone. The omnidirectional pickup pattern allows for creative microphone placement. It records all the sound in its direct environment. Usually, this means that it picks up sound from the artist's mouth.
The frequency range of the microphone is relatively flat. It has a downwards arc in the sub-lows and a boost in the high tones. This way speech is accentuated and clearly registered. The lightweight of the microphone (only 1 gram) ensures wearing comfort. After wearing it a few minutes, you will have forgotten that you have it on you.
