This potent little box from Aguilar bears the name Tone Hammer for excellent reason. Not only designed to provide comprehensive preamplification, this pedal provides all the functionality of a conventional DI box. Besides offering warm and organic Aguilar-grade sound, this 25th Anniversary Silver Edition of the Tone Hammer grants access to a 3-band EQ based on the OBP-3 preamp, complete with midrange frequency for maximum tonal elasticity, and separate gain and master controls dial in the perfect gain structure for any model of bass.

The Aguilar Tone Hammer: Adaptive Gain Shaping (AGS)

To raise the level of flexibility even further, the Tone Hammer has been gifted with Aguilar's very own Adaptive Gain Shaping circuit or AGS. This circuit allows the addition of an extra gain-structure and EQ at the flip of a switch. This can flip your sound from modern slap to vintage warmth or overdrive in a literal instant - making this pedal a stage essential. The 18 Volt operation also offers more than enough headroom for the most dynamic playing styles and, with the inclusion of the pristine DI functionality, the Tone Hammer is also a definite studio essential.

Reworked and Even Smaller Housing

Somehow, Aguilar have managed to squeeze the dimensions of this pedal by reducing the edges (see video). Since the edges have been shortened, right-angled jacks can be used with ease and no matter the format. The base of the casing has also been flattened so that adding this to a pedalboard is made a more simple matter.
