Simple and classic: the Orange Distortion is a modern rendition of a seventies boss. Wrapped in a fat aluminium box, this distortion pedal does it like it always did, then better. The internal circuit has been redeveloped from the ground up, including the tone stack, so while bass and mids have fixed presets, the treble can be customised at will. The sound is everything you would expect, and despite the stripped-back controls, the scope is actually extensive, ranging from a sweet clean boost to a tasty vintage crunch, and from a classic screamer to rich and thick saturation. The 9-12V power input, LED indicator and surprisingly low power consumption of just 3mA gives the Orange Distortion brick every right to call itself a vintage pedal for modern times, and naturally, it's been built with pride in the UK.
