General
Meinl's Generation X series has been a favourite of many drummers for years now. This series is full of modern, experimental cymbals that have a unique sound and inspire you to take your playing in completely new directions. The GX-16SC is a Safari Crash with a 16-inch diameter. It's made of Meinl's FX9 alloy that consists of copper, zinc, manganese and aluminium. Together with the high-quality, computerised manufacturing process, that alloy gives the Safari Crash a very distinct sound.
Meinl Generation X GX-16SC
Because this crash consists of two cymbals, it has a refreshing, powerful sound that decays rapidly. This allows you to use it to add a white-noise effect, to simulate loops or to add a unique atmosphere to the groove you're playing. Furthermore, adjusting the sound is very easy, thanks to the 'tension tuning system'. Simply tighten or loosen the wing nut on the cymbal stand, and you can vary between a trashy sound and a bright, more traditional crash sound with much less decay. In short, the Meinl Generation X Safari Crash is a great addition to your drum kit.
