The Sabian HHX Medium hi-hat proves that a 15-inch high-hat doesn't have to come with clumsy handling and obnoxious sound. While officially medium, the thickness of this cymbal sits somewhere between medium and thin due to the special HHX hammer pattern used to shape it. The result is a darker, more subtle sound that's still able to cut through the mix. This dark subtlety is further accented by the raw finish of the bell, which is also a little bigger than average, giving this high-hat a bit more volume without getting overpowering while the overall attack and response is satisfyingly fast.
