General

JBL’s PRX7 Performance system is a very complete speaker set with a powerful yet detailed sound. It is comprised of two JBL PRX712 active speakers, two JBL PRX718-XLF active subwoofers and two height-adjustable pole mounts. Despite the relatively compact housing and light weight of the individual components, this set produces a sound that is fat enough to sit around the house. Hence, the PRX Performance is powerful enough for clubs, concerts and events for an audience of about 450 people.

Active system

The PRX712 is a 2-way, 12-inch full-range speaker that is a perfect mate for the JBL PRX718-XLF 18-inch subwoofer. The sub’s built-in crossover prevents overlapping frequencies. Both the satellites and the subwoofers are equipped with Crown-made class-D amplifiers. This class of amps is very efficient, eliminating the need for heavy cooling fins and thus keeping the weight of these speakers down. What’s more, the JBL PRX712 satellites also do great work as stand-alone speakers for smaller venues.

Connectors

It is incredibly easy to set up the JBL Smart 7 system. First, you connect the mixer’s master out to the inputs of the PRX718XLF subwoofers, then, you link the subwoofer outputs to the inputs of the top cabinets. When you engage the (high-pass) crossover, the signal is transferred to the PRX712s.
