With this Zildjian set you can finally really ride the line between electronic and acoustic, thanks to their revolutionary compromise: the GEN16 cymbals. These cymbals produce 50-30% less volume than a regular cymbal, and are easy to amplify thanks to the Direct Source system. You'll still feel like you're playing a regular set, because these cymbals feel 100% acoustic. Being blocked in by microphones can be just an uncomfortable memory now - for both drummers and sound techs. So can feedback and ambient noise, thanks to the Direct Source pickups, which process the signal at the source to keep each cymbal's sound isolated from the others. This means that you can edit the sound of each cymbal individually, and give them their own effects, such as delay and reverb. This also means that you get a deeper, richer tone. If you're not pleased with the sound of your cymbal, then you can adjust the entire thing with the system, which can be downloaded from the Zildjian website (see notes for link).

LED effects

Not only do these cymbals give your sound a whole new sound, but they have some fun visual options as well. For instance, you'll find LED lights built into the pickups, which you can adjust with a choice of twelve different colours and six different animations. The LEDs also light up when you strike the cymbal. The Direct Source pickups, by the way, can also be used with regular acoustic cymbals, so you can amplify them in an isolated fashion as well.

This set comes with 13-inch hi-hats, a 16-inch crash and an 18-inch ride. These are the standard cymbals that are typically used by drummers the most. Remember that you can still customize the sound with the Access Tool! Besides the cymbals, you also get a mounting set and cleaning fluid.
