Specially configured for Indian music styles, the PSR-I500 comes pre-loaded with accompaniments you just won't find on most standard keyboards. 40 specific voicings naturally include a harmonium, shehnai, sitar, bansuri and santoor alongside 760 other sounds like pianos and synthesizers, offering the opportunity to blend elements from traditional Indian, Western classical and contemporary pop music. If you're still missing some specific sounds, they can be added and even looped using the Quick Sampling function via the AUX input.

The PSR-I500 with Indian Styles and a Riyaz Function

The PSR-I500 also comes with 282 accompaniment styles, 50 of which are typical styles collected from various regions of India, including classic Bhangra, Rabindra Sangeet or the traditional folk music from the southern mountains. Portamento effects, DSP effects and a Pitch Bend have all been provided to add further expression, and a special Riyaz is also offered, where 30 Taals filled with traditional tabla/Mridangam and Tanpura rhythms can be used to practice Ragas with ease.

Lesson Mode and Connection Options

Using the lesson function, 60 built-in songs can be learned step-by-step, and once you have them all down, more songs can be imported. The PSR-I500 also comes with a six-track recording function and a USB Audio Recorder to make recordings to a USB stick or external hard drive (both sold separately). This comprehensive instrument can also be connected to computer using the fitted USB-B port, a socket is provided to connect a sustain pedal, and headphones can also be hooked up.
