The SR1550 violin has an all-solid construction, meaning the both the spruce top and flamed mahogany back and sides are made of a solid piece of wood for enhanced sound. For the finish, the whole has been coated in a thin layer of Shellax™ varnish to bring out the beautifully unique grain.
