General
The Korg HA-40 has been specifically designed for the tuning of Hawaiian instruments, such as the ukulele and the steel guitar. The LCD display offers a reading with a +/-1 cent accuracy. The HA-40 has a detection range from C1 (24.500 Hz) to C8 (4186 Hz), but you can also adjust the reference tone by half-tone steps for sharp or flat tunings.
This Korg tuner supports various tunings, offering two modes for ukulele and five for steel guitar. For the ukulele the HA-40 allows for low G and D tunings, and thanks to its wide range you can also use it to tune steel guitars with more than six strings. Alternatively, the Sound Out mode uses the internal speaker of the HA-40 to produce a reference tone, enabling you to tune your instrument accordingly.
In addition to a 6.3mm jack input, the HA-40 features a 6.3mm output as well, so your instrument can remain connected to the tuner. It's also possible to use the optional CM-100L contact microphone to accurately tune acoustic instruments.
