The backbone of Joy Division and New Order has joined forces with Yamaha to build the monumental Limited Edition BB Peter Hook Signature Bass. This towering legend has blended all of his favourite bits of the BB1200S and BB734A models and reinforced the resulting mash-up with the unshakable stability of a three-piece body built out of a layer of maple sandwiched between two layers of alder. For the sake of certainty, the 5-piece maple and mahogany neck is secured by an extra-strong 6-bolt Mitre joint, sealing up the tonal consistency once and for all.
The BBPH Peter Hook with Reversed Split-Coil
The singular, uncompromising character of this bass is undeniably shaped by the reversed VSP7n Split single-coil. Engage the active circuit of this unique pickup and tweak the result using the active three-band EQ controls, and if you prefer things fully passive, simply flip the fitted mini-switch. The set of lightweight open-gear machine heads only serve to complete the solid picture. The Yamaha BB Peter Hook Bass is definitely an instrument made for the genuine bass-buff, especially since only a few will ever be produced. So if you're already drooling, you'd better start counting those pennies right now.

Being a huge Peter Hook fan, and having wanted a Yamaha BB1200S for many years, it was apparent that getting hold of an original was never going to be, alas. When I saw this signature model I immediately ordered one from Bax Shop as the price was the best! It arrived a few days ago and I am absolutely chuffed. Well packaged and whoever set it up got it spot on. Low action, no fret buzz. Feels lovely, solid and obviously sounds great. I have this sat next to my Eastwood Guitars Hooky Bass 6 Pro (in red with black pick guard, a reproduction of his Shergold Marathon 6 string bass), so now my ambition of owning bass guitars as close to Peter's originals has been fulfilled. I enjoy playing those fantastic melodic bass riffs with these wonderful instruments!
