The Fender (Faded Sonic Blue) American Vintage '63 Precision Bass is a bass guitar that is identical to the classic Fender model in every way. You will be able to enjoy the sound, design and playability of the original 1963 P-Bass. Even the sound of the American Vintage '63 P-Bass split single-coil pickup is exactly like that of a sixties Precision Bass.
Construction of the American Vintage '63 Precision Bass
The alder body of the Fender American Vintage '63 Precision Bass features a light-blue lacquer and a mint-green pickguard. Also, this guitar has a thick C-profile maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. It was in 1963 that Fender first used a round-laminated fretboard, that sits on the neck as if it were just a thin layer. Other distinctive features include the chrome bridge and pickup covers and the finger support below the strings.
Guitars and bass guitars from the American Vintage series
The American Vintage models are accurate reproductions of Fender guitars and bass guitars from the fifties, sixties and seventies. The original guitars were carefully analysed, after which Fender crafted the new editions using genuine '50s tools. Additionally, every type was fitted with unique pickups and virtually all American Vintage instruments were finished with a very thin, vintage-looking coat for optimal body resonance.
