The Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster was first introduced in 1988, which makes it one of Fender's longest-running signature guitars. Compared to other Strats, the Malmsteen solid-body is notable for its scalloped fretboard. Inspired by medieval string instruments like the lute, it allows you to play the guitar without your fingers touching the fretboard, giving you greater control over vibrato and string bends. The other most noticeably different features of this version are its larger '60s-style headstock, brass string nut, super jumbo frets and three Seymour Duncan YJM Fury pickups.

The alder Stratocaster body of this Yngwie Malmsteen signature is bolted with four screws to a maple neck with aforementioned scalloped maple fretboard, resulting in the legendary balanced acoustic tone with a bite. Also, the modern C profile combined with the 9.5-inch fretboard radius and 21 sizeable frets ensure unrivalled playing comfort. However, the vintage white Malmsteen Stratocaster still has the familiar Fender feel.

Seymour Duncan YJM Fury and Fender No-Load Tone

The Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster is equipped with three Seymour Duncan YJM Fury pickups. The stacked-coil design of these pickups make sure your guitar tone keeps the clear, dynamic single-coil character without being bothered by the typical noise and hum. There's a STK-S10N at the neck and in the middle position and an STK-S10B at the bridge. Fender's No-Load tone potentiometer comes from the Delta Tone system of the standard American Fender series. From position 0 till 9 this potentiometer functions as a normal tone control. In position 10 it eliminates itself from the circuit (True-Bypass) for just that extra bit of volume and punch for the middle and bridge pickups.
