To celebrate the fact that they've been building BTB basses for exactly a quarter of a century, Ibanez presents a special edition. Enter the BTB25TH5 Silver Blizzard Matte 5-string. Featuring a neck-through build with okoume wings and a 4-piece maple/walnut neck reinforced with a graphite rods, this seriously stable bass shapes an extra-robust, sustain-rich foundation sound while offering the playability needed to navigate all the way up to the 24th fret with smooth ease. Meanwhile, the slightly-longer-than-standard 35-inch scale length supports nice-and-tight string tension as well as the option to tune a half step (or more) down without sacrificing any sonic might.
The BTB25TH5: Nordstrand Big Single Pickups
Other perks include stainless steel frets, a zero fret, a Custom Electronics 3-band EQ and a 3-way mid frequency switch (250 Hz/450 Hz/700 Hz) which, combined with the fitted pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups, puts a ton of tonal flavours on the table. The soapbar-style single-coils deliver full-bodied tone by default and can be accurately mixed thanks to the balancer control.
