General
A big fan of the Star Bass, session legend Lee Sklar (Phil Collins, James Taylor) teamed up with Warwick and got to design his own semi-acoustic signature edition: the SklarBass I. This affordable RockBass Artist Line Series example shares core specifications with the Star Bass as well as various refinements, including a more modernly contoured mahogany body that comes topped with 3/8"-thick, AAA-grade flamed maple for a rich, full-range foundation sound. A RockBag Deluxe Line gig bag is included as standard.
The RockBass Artist Line SklarBass I: MEC Vintage Single Coils & Lee Sklar Producer Switch
Warwick has outfitted this hollowbody bass with two MEC Vintage single-coil pickups, a balance knob and a set of volume, bass and treble pots, allowing players to dial in a wide range of sounds. Not only that, the SklarBass I comes fitted with a 3-way Lee Sklar Producer Switch that, when flipped, does absolutely nothing — perfect for when a band member or your producer asks you for a slightly different sound when you can't be bothered.
