The Breakbeats by Questlove drum shell set is the result of a highly successful collaboration between Ludwig and Ahmir Questlove Thompson. This great sounding, professional, compact drum shell set is ideal for touring drummers. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that its smaller size means it isn't capable of producing a big sound. In fact, when amplified, it delivers exactly the same sort of performance as larger models. What's more, its compact size makes it suitable for drummers of all ages!
Ludwig Breakbeats by Questlove drum shell set in Azure Blue Sparkle
Even though the Breakbeats drum shell set doesn't come with hardware or cymbals, it has a fantastic sounding 16 x 14-inch bass drum with riser, a 10 x 7-inch tom that can sound jazzy or poppy, a 13 x 13-inch floor tom with a tightly focused balanced sound and a matching 14 x 5-inch wooden snare drum. The 7-ply hardwood shells have an Azure Blue Sparkle finish and feature transparent Remo Pinstripe drumheads.
Compact and lightweight
Questlove knows exactly what it's like to be an up-and-coming drummer in a big city where most people don't have enough space to accommodate a drum kit. Not only that, he knows that getting a kit to and from performances is never the easiest of tasks either. With the Breakbeats by Questlove, however, these issues are in the past. This shell set is so compact that it won't take up more than 1 seating space in your car! It'll fit in the boot of a taxi too and they're even light enough to take on the bus or train. Velvet storage bags are included for ease of transportation and to protect your drums from scratches, although you may wish to invest in a thicker set of bags for even more peace of mind. The included bags can also be used to dampen the drum's sounds when you're playing by simply placing them over the top.

Prima, klein kitje. De klank is groots, heb menig geluidsman verbaasd met de volle, romige klank van de toms. Bijgeleverde vellen zijn oke, echte pin-stripes zijn waarschijnlijk beter. De bass-drum riser is ruk, ik heb de DW riser gekocht en sindsdien staat de set als een huis. Ik gebruik de WorldMax BK-5014SH Black Dawg 14 x 5 inch snare drum (ook niet duur) ipv de meegeleverde snare (die ook niet beroerd klinkt). Mooi setje Gibraltar hardware 8700PK bij gekocht en het staat prachtig. Heb ook een Gretsch USA Custom Ribbon Mahogany, maar voor optredens gebruik ik liever de Ludwig (veel kleiner en lichter).
De kit klinkt goed en is heel compact. Ik vind alleen niet dat de kit heel stevig is op sommige delen, bijvoorbeeld de riser voor de base kan niet heel stevig op de base. fijn de je bij de tom houder ook een klem zit voor een bekken standaard ofzo. De hoezen zijn puur voor makkelijk meenemen, ze beschermen niet, en je kan ze ook niet goed gebruiken om stil te drummen, wel je trommels dempen. Wat ik heb gedaan is het aanschaffen van de pearl midtown hoezenset, daar passen de trommels ook in. los van dat is de geluidkwaliteit van de kit geweldig, er zitten goede vellen op.

Petite batterie néanmoins puissante. Le kick sonne vraiment bien (pour un 16'), les fut (10' et 13') sont eux aussi efficace. Seule la caisse clair laisse à désirer.
La finition est chouette, même si le joint du revêtement Rodhoïd n'est pas "invisible".
Une valeur sûre.
