General
A decade may seem like a long time, but that's how long Pearl invested in the development of their special Decade Maple series. The result is a number of professional-sounding drum kits with shells that are made completely of maple, which is a rare find in this price category. The DMP925F/C262 is a 5-piece kit that consists of a 20 x 18-inch bass drum, 10 x 7 and 12 x 8-inch toms, a 14 x 14-inch floor tom and a 14 x 5.5-inch snare. This particular kit has been finished with a Satin Slate Black lacquer and comes complete with a 5-piece chrome-plated hardware pack.
Optimal resonance
To get the very best sound out of the maple used for the shells, Pearl took various measures to optimise the resonance. One of those measures was the OptiLoc Suspension System, which involves the toms being mounted at two tuning points and at the air vent. This offers stability at three points and minimal contact with the shell for the best possible resonance. Pearl has also kept the lugs small and lightweight to minimise their impact on the sound of the shells as well.
Hardware pack
As mentioned above, this drum kit comes complete with the HWP-830 hardware pack consisting of a stand for the snare drum, hi-hat and two cymbals as well as a P-930 Demonator bass drum pedal. The 830 series stands are all double-braced for extra stability. This pack is perfect for beginners, but it also makes a great spare set for experienced drummers.

Sinds kort eigenaar van dit mooie drumstel. Het drumstel is van mooie kwaliteit en ziet er erg goed uit. Zowel bij de drums als de hardware heb je het idee dat het een hoogwaardig product is. Het kost even wat tijd en moeite om af te stellen maar dan heb je ook wel wat.
De drumvellen zijn van Remo maar worden in China gemaakt. Dit is echter niet erg want de kwaliteit is goed en ze kunnen in de toekomst altijd vervangen worden voor betere vellen.
