The preamp defines every note with harmonic richness, depth and full resonance, which can be customised at will via the responsive three-band equalizer, complete with tweakable bass, treble and wide-ranging mid controls, while the drive pot can be opened up to add a touch of valve-style character.

Since this is the upgraded Tone Hammer V2, fresh from the Aguilar Cabinet Suite, it also offers the modern bassist some fresh options. Whether you're in the rehearsal space, playing live or working in the studio, the improved Cabinet Suite software backs you up with specially developed SL/DS cabinet IRs as well as user-IRs that can be shaped and moulded to complete a personalised profile. The two XLR outputs, meanwhile, can be used for your monitor mix and to send a pre-EQ signal to the PA at the same time.
